Windermere Oaks System Update - Thursday, 2 pm

Windermere Oaks System Update - Thursday, 2 p.m. * Crews are working at the airport right now. They will know more in an hour or so. * System water pressure is low everywhere so that the company can minimize water loss from all the undiscovered leaks. If you are having extreme low pressure, please contact our water manager so that they can check it out. 830-598-7511 * The water company may need to shut service again tonight, but it is not clear as to if, where or when. They are trying to find the area that has the most outflowing water. This morning the system was treating 70 gallons per minute but it was pumping 130 gallons per minute out. The crews addressed several leaks around the system and reduced the outflow to 60 gpm. If they can reduce that to 30 gallons per minute by the end of the day that would provide the margin they need to keep the entire system running overnight. The system recharges its water tank over night so it needs to be producing more than it is sending out. * Decision about shutting down parts of the system will be made in a couple of hours. * Regarding Boil Notice -- yes, this notice should be considered in effect until otherwise notified. The company will be taking samples from throughout the system and bringing to TCEQ for testing, but we are not sure when that will happen given road conditions and other work that is requiring attention. Currently, 7 million Texans are living under boil-water notices, and that number is expected to increase, according to TCEQ.
