FINAL NOTICE TO LANDLORDS & RENTERS
This is a final request to all landlords and renters for compliance with a Public Utility Commission of Texas order requiring WOWSC to provide water and sewer service only to members. This means renters must become members to receive utility service. Alternate Billing Agreements will no longer be honored.
As stated in previous communications to landlords, renters must complete membership paperwork and submit the completed forms and payment to the billing department. If a renter refuses to become a member, the landlord must pay for utility service under a utilities-included lease arrangement for water/sewer service. This does not allow landlords to pass monthly utility bills to renters, as this would constitute acting as a third party collecting utility payments, which violates Texas water law. If neither of these options are chosen, service may disconnected.
The deadline to comply is Monday. After that date, non-compliant accounts may be reported to the PUC and face possible disconnection, as Windermere cannot provide service to non-members.
