Boil Water Notice
July 07, 2025
Following the PEC power outage yesterday, our pressure transducers, key electronic sensors that regulates system pressure and is sensitive to voltage fluctuations, was damaged. While our backup generators did activate, the surge compromised the sensors and as a result, system pressure has dropped. Although the plant is currently reading 30 psi, pressure in other areas may be lower. Per TCEQ guidelines, if pressure falls below 20 psi, a Boil Water Notice is required to ensure public safety.
Until further notice, all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing produce, etc. should be boiled for at least two minutes before use. The damaged parts are scheduled to be replaced tomorrow, and the repair should take no more than three hours once work begins. In the meantime, please conserve water by avoiding the use of dishwashers and washing machines until the repair is complete. We sincerely thank you for your patience and cooperation and will provide updates as soon as repairs are completed, and water is confirmed safe for normal use.
